    Both rules work in tandem to steer us quickly and safely on our journey: Rule #1 is the accelerator, driving us forward quickly, and in the right direction. Rule #2 is the brakes, ensuring we do so as a compassionate community, preventing us from going off the edge.
  • Core Qualities: Talent, Ambition, and Humility.
    Most companies focus on what you've done. We care about who you are. We think if you can learn without being taught (and teach what you know), have real tangible goals (with some evidence you're pursuing them), and genuinely appreciate others' ideas (rather than just tolerate them quietly) -- experience will come naturally.

    We love checking places off our collective bucket list. The entire company gets together a few times a year — in the US for a week-long trip to different cities and once abroad for an extended adventure called Offshore. Families are also invited to join us abroad, but if traveling isn’t your thing then don’t worry, every trip is optional.
  • Work from anywhere you want.
    If you like to mix work and travel all on your own, just take your laptop! For those who are permanent remote employees, you can choose which Expensify location to visit every year. Depending where you go, you might get a bonus greeting from one of our canine companions.
    If you’re looking into switching locations permanently, we’re more than happy to sponsor your visa to work in one of our global locations: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the Netherlands. We’ll also cover your moving costs every four years, if you’re moving to a city where we have a lounge (right now that’s San Francisco and Portland, but the list will grow)!
  • Food, coffee, activities – Expensify it!
    Anything you eat or drink while working is on us, just Expensify it. Our team doesn't stop hanging out just 'cause the clock hits 6pm — our social lives extend beyond the office, and so does our expense policy. Whether it’s soccer, yoga, trivia, karaoke, comedy, cooking, art, or anything in between, we’ve got you covered as long as you invite the whole team.
  • Take a 2 month sabbatical.
    After 8 years of tenure at Expensify, you get a 2 month sabbatical at Expensify (fully paid!). The goal here is that having been here for 8 years, you have successfully built processes that don't rely heavily on you, have largely been automated, distributed and/or handed off. And most importantly, after 8 years, you deserve an extensive break.
